Wege Prize

Thursday, September 01, 2022

The Wege Prize is an annual competition that ignites game-changing solutions for the future by inspiring college/university students around the world to collaborate across institutional, disciplinary, and cultural boundaries to redesign the way economies work. Participants contend for $65,000 (USD) in total cash prizes, all while learning—and helping to show the world—what the future of problem-solving looks like.

  • Open to all full-time college/university students around the world at all degree levels, no matter their citizenship status.
  • Students form teams of 5 and apply with a research plan that identifies a wicked problem and proposes a circular design solution that can help us transition from a linear economic model to a circular economic model.
  • All student teams that apply will receive application feedback. Those who are accepted will have their ideas reviewed by our panel of core judges: seasoned professionals in the fields of design, the circular economy, sustainable business, and more.
  • Finalist teams present to a live audience in May (travel is reimbursed) and compete for a portion of a $65k cash prize pool.

Application is now open and has a deadline of October 31st, 2022! For more information, please see https://www.wegeprize.org/apply
